This book was very short and easy to read. It is perfect for younger middle grade kids. I believe this is how a book for kids should be like, exciting, interesting, warm and thoughtful. The characters were very fun and interesting to me. I also enjoyed the atmosphere of the orphanage and the fun friendships. I look forward to seeing a sequel to this book.

“The Rose Society” (The Young Elites #2) by: Marie Lu -Book Review

I enjoyed the first book, The Young Elites but I think I enjoyed this novel a little bit more. This book had adventure nonstop. The Rose Society picks up shortly after The Young Elites ended and we are again pulled back into Adelina’s story pretty quickly. I've loved Adelina from the beginning. She's strong and still stubborn and isn't afraid to fight for what she wants. However, Adelina is now losing her grip and control. She is constantly fighting between the good and evil within herself. I also loved the incorporation of all these new Elites. It adds so many more to the story line. And I have to say MAGIANO is by far my favorite of the new characters. Overall the writing was powerful and the emotions came across well. So much happens, so much is revealed, and is so much darker than the fist book. Allies betray each other and enemies work together all to serve their own ends. In a way, I wanted to see Adelina reunite with the Daggers. Instead Adelina is now out of control. The last thirty pages made my heart race and made me tear up and fear for a certain character’s life. Im excited yet scared to see what will happen in the next book. 

"The Julian Chapter"(Wonder 1.5) by: R.J. Palacio -Book Review

I loved The Julian Chapter. It was just perfect. we get to see Julian’s perspective of the bully. It opened my eyes and allowed me to see his side of the story and why he did the things he did. I believe the best part of the book was when Julian’s Grandma shared her past with him. We learn so much in this story, not just Julian. Best quotes: “One mistake does not define you” “Everyone has a story to tell” 

"The Perfectionists" (The Perfectionists #1) by: Sara Shepard -Book Review

The premise of this book, “The Perfectionist” is a lot like Shepard’s previous series “Pretty Little Liars” almost in everyway. However, this book does have some twists. The book features five girls, Parker, Julie, Caitlin, Ava and Mac who have all fallen victim of the horrible Nolan Hotchkiss. The five girls plan a supposed murder of Nolan but then later turns up dead, only they didn’t do it. I was quite surprised with the story and despite the various issues I had with it, I still enjoyed it. One issue was that there were so many characters it was very difficult for me to distinguish between them all and keep up. Also the betrayal of a lot of characters was huge in this book. But I liked how all the girls stuck together and supported one another. The ending was incredibly a cliffhanger. The book gives us no insight to who was the killer and why they did it. Now I’m so intrigued and eager to find out who the killer is. Overall, it was quick, entertaining, and fast paced book.

"The Young Elites" (The Young Elites #1) by: Marie Lu -Book Review

The Young Elites is a fast-paced, enjoyable story despite its drawback. Some characters were stronger than others. Adelina is such a rich character with faults and strengths. She stands out from all other characters I have read. I was also very pleased with Violetta’s character. She was given more depth that made the relationship between the two sisters quite exciting. I also loved the overall feel of this book. It is a fantasy, but has a historical feel to it. The ending really took this novel to a whole new level with its surprises and crazy ending no one was expecting. I’m very excited to read the next book in the series.

"Attachments" by: Rainbow Rowell -Book Review

I found myself unable to stop reading. I liked the fact that the chapters switched back and forth between Jennifer’s and Beth’s emails to Lincoln's thoughts. The friendship between Beth and Jennifer may have been my favorite part. Their personalities were very different. I thought they were hilarious and so realistic. I think that Rowell did an excellent job in portraying each character. I love all Rowell’s books. She amazed me with Eleanor and Park and absolutely blew my mind with Fangirl and now she made me fall in love all over again with Attachments! 

"Red Queen" by: Victoria Aveyard - Book Review

Red Queen is a world divided by blood red and silver. Those who have silver blood have special powers that believe make them the elite. Whereas the red blooded are treated as no more than servants and have no unique abilities. Not going to lie, but it was story was hard to follow and understand everything at first. But after that, Red Queen is a non-stop rollercoaster that will constantly keep readers guessing and leave them coming back and begging for more. I never knew and expected what was going to happen in the end. Overall, Red Queen met and exceeded my expectations. And the cover was absolutely gorgeous. I can’t wait to see where Victoria Aveyard takes the characters next. It’s going to be interesting. Can’t wait for more in this world!
